Adding smart plugs or bulbs is a challenge when it doesn't find it. Most of the time I have to download the brands app as well when it should just be a simple process. After your Google TV device has been set-up, you will get the home screen.
This process is quite easy to follow and won’t consume much of your time. Although Google Home, in combination with additional devices and apps, is a great way to connect and control what you see on TV, Google Assistant is also incorporated into select TVs. By linking Google Home with a compatible Harmony remote system, you can perform many of the control and content access functions for your TV using Google Assistant voice commands. If your TV also has HDMI-CEC and that feature is enabled (check your TV's HDMI settings), you can use Google Home to tell your Chromecast to turn the TV on or off. Your Google Home can also switch to the HDMI input the Chromecast is connected to on your TV when you send a voice command to start playing content.

Apps and services can be installed directly from the device, or you can head to Google Play on your phone and remotely send new software to Google TV. To restart the Chromecast with Google TV scroll down and select Restart. Then wait a few moments while the Chromecast restarts and it’s complete when it returns to your home screen.
Select the Set up device option and then choose the New device option. Once you connect the Google TV device to your TV, you need to begin the set-up process. It can be done through the Google Home app. Tap the Wi-Fi network you want to connect your device toNext. Under "Where is this device?" choose a roomtap Next.

Why is my WiFi working on my phone but not my TV?

Change Google Assistant settings
If you have a Nest Hello video doorbell, a Nest Cam, or some other compatible home security camera, you can ask Google Assistant to show you a feed from that device on your TV. Here is a list of cameras that work with Chromecast; not all may work with Chromecast with Google TV 4K right away. I was able to stream a feed from the Wyze Cam to my TV.
A light I turn on every night displays in the morning as it turned off when it is still on. Giving verbal commands to my Google home results in lots of glitches lately. Grouping lights in one room together so that they all go on or off at the same time is a nightmare that shouldn't happen, and required a lot of workarounds to make it stop. Too easy to accidentally turn a light off when trying to dim or charge colors.
Alternatively, they can use Guest Mode. When the LED light turns solid white, release the button, and the Chromecast should then reset. Completely close the Google Home app and then reopen it. Check if other networks are visible and in range, including your home Wi-Fi. If you want to set up the power button, press the power button on the remote to turn off the TV wait 8 seconds turn the TV back on.
Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the network settings. You can also view the device’s connection status, Wi-Fi and other information. To reach more advanced settings, select the Settings icon on the right side of the device’s page.
